Set Report: X-Men 3 Mutant Cure Riot Scene Pictures from the set in downtown Vancouver December 19th 2005 07:30am | Posted by: Editor-in-Chief
Occasional HNR photographer “C Feldman” hit up the X-Men 3 set in the Gastown area of downtown Vancouver on Sunday December 18 and witnessed some interesting action.
“They were shooting a scene in which the army is deployed to support the police in quelling a riot by people apparently opposed to the mutant plague vaccine being distributed at the clinic. You can see in my pictures the “Mutant Cure Shots Available Here” signs and the heavy military response. Filming took place at Carrell & Hastings Streets in Gastown.”
In the second sequel, when a cure is found to treat mutations, lines are drawn amongst the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), and the Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier's former ally, Magneto (Sir Ian McKellen).
See below for the photos. For additional photos from the set - including ones of the cast - check out our photo gallery.

Powell, whose previous action scores include Face/Off, The Bourne Identity and The Italian Job, is working for the first time with director Brett Ratner. Previous reports about Lalo Schifrin being involved in the project (Ratner worked with him on the two Rush Hour films and After the Sunset) are no longer accurate. The two first X-Men films, directed by Bryan Singer, were scored by Michael Kamen and John Ottman.
